HLB International’s conference in Amsterdam brings together 200 professionals from 40 countries and prestigious speakers

 

Michael Bohling and Iliana Malinov of HLB Gross Collins, P.C. recently attended the HLB International Audit and Tax Conference that took place in Amsterdam.

The HLB International annual audit & tax conference brought together close to 200 professionals from 40 countries. The conference was an opportunity to hear about the latest trends in the profession from prestigious speakers including:

  • Arnold Schilder, Chair of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB)
  • Jos van Huut, Chair of the European Group of International Accounting Networks and Associations (EGIAN), Board member of the Netherlands Institute of Chartered Accountants (NBA) and Vice-President of the Federation of European Accountants (FEE)
  • Martijn Duffels, Head of Secretariat of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR)
  • and international tax expert Hans van den Hurk, Professor in corporate and International taxation and International Tax Policy at the Maastricht University, along with representatives from the Dutch tax authorities.

A roundtable event entitled “CEOs & CFOs – Business Leaders of Tomorrow” was held prior to the conference and brought together attendees from 12 countries. This event was an opportunity for exchange of information and solution-oriented discussions focused on C-level challenges in terms of productivity, business performance and trend anticipation.

HLB has developed good presence in the Netherlands with HLB Netherlands comprising four members across the country: HLB Van Daal, HLB Den Hartog, HLB Nannen, and since 2015 HLB Bloemer. HLB Netherlands generates around 48 million euros turnover and employs close to 480 staff.

HLB International holds a number of international and regional conferences every year, which are an opportunity not only to hear about the latest updates in the profession but also for HLB professionals to network together and get to know each other personally.
