HLB International’s Conference in Bangkok -Transformation and Opportunities

HLB International’s annual conference brought together 100 professionals from 33 countries in Bangkok from 21 to 24 October. Breaking borders by Transformation and Opportunities; Improving Efficiency, Productivity & Profitability through Technology as well as insights from well-informed speakers were part of the program.  Richard Taylor and Michael Bohling from HLB Gross Collins, P.C. were in attendance.

George Yip, Professor of Strategy and Co-Director of the Centre on China Innovation at China Europe International Business School, as our keynote speaker underlined “How to recognize strategic transformation, when you need it and how to do it.” He inspired the audience with his insights on leadership in relation to building transient advantage.

Véronique Salze-Lozac’h, Chief Economist and Senior Director, Economic Development The Asia Foundation emphasized that it is important to understand the positioning of South East Asia in the region and globally by taking consideration of the challenges and opportunities of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

For HLB International’s CEO, Rob Tautges, Strategy and International Co-operation were the key words. He noted that every organization needs to re-visit strategy and HLB International is no exception. He stated; “We have exceptional firms across the world focused on growing through the consistent delivery of well-coordinated, seamless service to cross-border clients.”

Technology was highlighted as being a crucial part of the Accounting profession with sessions on Improving Efficiency, Productivity & Profitability through Technology and breakouts for delegates to take a deep dive into technologies to improve Practices.

The delegates welcomed the participation of Kitti Prasirtsuk who gave a regional political overview. He teaches international relations in the Faculty of Political Science and serves as Director at the Institute of East Asian Studies, Thammasat University.

HLB International has a strong presence across Asia Pacific with Top 10 firms in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam. It has further strengthened its presence in the region by Foo Kon Tan LLP joining HLB International.
