HLB KMC West Africa: two HLB professionals selected in President Barack Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative

Kader Kaneye, Managing Partner of HLB KMC West Africa, and Raynatou Baro, Head of the firm’s women initiative “Ladies Hub”, have just been selected as part of the 500 young African leaders of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), created and supported by US President Barack Obama, out of 50,000 candidates. President Obama’s vision for this programme is to support young leaders whose commitment, courage and “yes, we can” attitude will lead sub-Saharan Africa into a new age of prosperity as it takes its place on the world stage.

Kader Kaneye and Raynatou Baro were selected into the Washington Fellowship, YALI’s flagship programme. The Washington Fellowship includes six weeks’ studying in the US in the fields of business and entrepreneurship, civic leadership or public management followed by participation in a three-day “Washington Fellows Summit” hosted by President Obama. This summit gives participants an opportunity to interact with US leaders in the field of business, government and the non-profit sector.

HLB KMC West Africa is HLB International’s member firm in Niger where it ranks in the Top 2, covering Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Senegal and Togo as well. It is quite exceptional to see two professionals from the same firm selected in YALI’s Washington Fellowship and this reflects HLB KMC West Africa’s core strategy of technical and ethical excellence.
