Do Not Respond to Email Requests from IRS – Phishing Scam

Some taxpayers have received an email correspondence purporting to be from the IRS regarding EFTPS issues. The email states, “Last notice: Your Federal Tax Payment has been rejected” or something similar.  This is a phishing scam and you should never respond to such emails or click any links within the email.  The IRS does not communicate with taxpayers via email. If the IRS has a problem, they will send paper correspondence.
